Hydrotreating and hydrocracking processes, used for producing mixtures of saturated hydrocarbons whose composition depends on the process conditions (temperature, pressure, catalyst activity), require large quantities of hydrogen which is generally produced directly on site using Steam Reforming (SMR) plants.
