Water treatment - Ozone
Ozone is a strongly oxidative and gas that is produced from oxygen using electrical energy, it is an unstable molecule and tends to break down spontaneously producing oxygen once again (half life at 20°C: about 30 minutes), so it cannot be stored that has to be produced directly from it is used.
The use of ozone produced by SOL plant and introduced into the water with high performance Ecojet® technology guarantees efficacious and competitive solutions for disinfecting process water, in particular in the case of recycling, without producing any potentially harmful sub-products or increasing the salinity of the water.
In the treatment of waste water, SOL ozone permits disinfection, the elimination of residual colour, the reduction of any content of surfactants or phenols or other chemicals that are hard to attack without creating sludge that has to be disposed of, in fact they increase the biodegradability of the water thanks also to the oxygen that is dissolved into it together with the ozone.
The most modern ozone production technologies offer levels of conversion of the pure oxygen used as raw material greater than 16% and usage efficiency close to 100%: in particular the production of ozone from pure oxygen considerably reduces both the cost of investment and the electrical consumption of the ozone production system compared with systems that use air. The specific characteristics of the oxygen supplied by SOL prolong the useful life of the plant thanks to the very low content of humidity which, if present in potentially uncontrolled quantities, for example when using compressed air, can lead to frequent breakages.
With Ecojet® technology it is also possible to reuse, for example in the water purifying plant, the oxygen released by the plant after the ozone is dissolved and used: this makes for further savings and an increase in the overall efficiency of the treatment.
