Transport at controlled temperature
The need to deliver over medium and long distances perishable products such as fresh and frozen food or pharmaceutical products, sometimes with stopovers in towns that require the engine, and as a result the mechanical refrigeration system of the vehicle, to be turned off, demands equipment that can guarantee the maintenance of the cold chain: SOL has developed technologies, products and services that use dry ice, carbon dioxide snow or liquid nitrogen, offers an efficacious and efficient solution to this problem, reducing waste and returns.
It is in fact possible to use the refrigerating properties of carbon dioxide introduced in the form of dry ice or carbon dioxide snow into the box used for food deliveries: a correct quantity of CO2 can be the right solution to keep the cold chain of perishable products.
For long distance transport of frozen food the use of liquid nitrogen, introduced in the transport container by automatic devices based on its internal temperature, makes it possible to guarantee the cold chain even in the case of prolonged stops with the engine switched off, for example during the summer with high outside temperatures.
The interior temperature of the vehicle is measured by systems provided by SOL that are periodically calibrated and certified, and this also makes it possible to issue to end users a certificate of compliance with the regulations on the transport of perishable products.
