Cryogenic cleaning - DryBlast
DryBlast is a complete range of SOL technologies, products and services for the cleaning of surfaces with dry ice: the system is simple, ecological, nonabrasive and economical and is based on the use of a high-speed jet of dry ice pellets and compressed air. These pellets have a typical diameter of about 3 mm and the temperature of about -78°C, and have the characteristic of sublimating (passing from the solid to the gaseous state) very quickly, disappearing directly into the atmosphere without leaving residues and removing the layer of dirt from the surface is treated.
The pellets penetrate the layer to be removed and at the same time begin to sublimate into gas and exert pressure between the layer to be removed and the surface below, an action which is helped by the dirt becoming fragile under the low temperature of the pellets.
Substantially the removal of the layer of dirt occurs by detachment, unlike traditional sandblasting in which the dirt is removed by abrasion which could damage the surface is treated.
In addition, compared with the use of solvents and chemical products, DryBlast technology leaves no residues of potentially harmful products on the surfaces of food equipment and plant which thus remain unchanged even after hundreds of applications, guaranteeing the quality of the food produced.
